Awkwafina
American actor and musician Awkwafina debuted with sly rap tracks that tackled racial identity and sexuality with the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to broadening her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. Apart from classical music and jazz, Nora Lum started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. While in the school, she focused on the field of journalism as well as women's studies. She was also a student of Mandarin briefly in Beijing. After graduating, it wasn't until that she shifted her focus on music. Following her viral success on the Internet, her track My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained viral hits like body-positive Queef and winking tour of her home NYC Bitche$. The song was specifically linked to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her 2015 travel guide. Apart from being a published author as well, she also worked as a performer. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies like Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered a series of notable roles including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
